Learning About Diabetes Diagnosis, Treatment and Research

Welcome to my site, my name is Jess Indaja. I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes after struggling with my weight throughout my teen years and adulthood. My doctor informed me about all of the dangers associated with my diet and exercise habits. I was encouraged to change the way I ate and moved in an effort to reverse my blood sugar problem. I made the changes, but still struggle with controlling my blood sugar. After going through this trying situation, I decided to make a site that may help others with problems associated with type 2 diabetes. I will discuss diagnostic procedures, treatments and medical research concerning this disease. I hope you visit often and learn all you can to control your type 2 diabetes or help others with this condition.

Why It's Not a Bad Idea to Get a Second Opinion about Your Pain

by Carla Hudson

If you have been suffering from some type of serious or chronic pain, you might have recently gone to the doctor to find out more about your pain. Although you might have already seen a doctor and trust their opinion, this doesn't mean it's bad if you seek a second opinion. In fact, seeking a second opinion about your pain might be a good idea for these reasons and more.

Doctors Sometimes Make Mistakes

Just because a doctor is a good doctor does not mean that they don't make mistakes every now and then. Getting a second opinion is a good way to cover yourself and make sure that you are getting good advice, just in case your first doctor might have made a mistake when diagnosing you and talking to you about your pain.

There Might Be a Good Specialist You Can Count On

Although the doctor that you had an appointment with might be a good doctor overall, they might not be a specialist. You might find that you will feel more comfortable if you can get a second opinion from a specialist who has special training and experience in dealing with the type of pain that you are suffering from. In fact, your regular doctor might even be able to provide you with a recommendation for a specialist who you can see.

You Might Not Have Gotten Results From Current Treatments

After talking to your doctor about your pain, your doctor might have recommended medication, physical therapy, or some other treatment option. After trying this treatment, however, you might not have noticed the results that you were looking for. If this is the case, getting a second opinion and trying a different treatment option might be really helpful.

You Might Want a Second Opinion Before Trying a Major Treatment Option

If you have talked to your doctor about treatment options like surgery, you might be wondering about whether or not you should have the surgery done. It's not a bad idea to get a second opinion before doing something major, such as undergoing major surgery. Then, you can make sure you are making the right choice beforehand.

You Can Get a Second Opinion Online

You might not really be sure about getting a second opinion because you don't really want to go to another doctor's appointment. After all, the idea of sitting in a waiting room at a doctor's office when you're in pain might seem unpleasant. However, you can actually get a second opinion online and from the comfort of your own home. Many health services offer online second opinion options for belly pain, for example.

Even if you have already seen a doctor about your pain, it's not a bad idea to seek another opinion. Luckily, you can look for a second opinion online, or you can meet with a local doctor to get that second opinion.
