Welcome to my site, my name is Jess Indaja. I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes after struggling with my weight throughout my teen years and adulthood. Truckers: Ease Your Driving-Related Upper Body Pain Here

If you're a trucker who drives for weeks at a time, you may experience pain in multiple places in your upper body, including your neck and shoulders. Along with back pain, neck and shoulder pain can be tough on truckers today. If you don't take precautions before, during, and after you drive, you could experience upper body pain for the rest of your career. Learn what you can do about your truck-related pain below.

Can You Ease the Pain in Your Neck and Shoulders?

Many truckers not only spend most of their time sitting behind the wheel, but they also perform other duties that can harm the muscles in the neck, shoulders, and back. Truckers who lift and load cargo during the day may also experience upper body pain. People who apply or cover their cargo with large, heavy tarps may strain or pull their muscles as well. Unless you take precautions before and during work, your pain may only get worse. 

If your pain is worse early in the day, take time to stretch and flex your muscles in the morning or right before you transport your cargo. You want to do simple stretches to loosen up the muscles in your neck, shoulders, and upper back, such as shoulder and arm rolls. You can also do a few simple yoga exercises to loosen up or relax your back muscles in the evening or right after your shift ends. You may use a mat, soft towel, or blanket to make your yoga exercises feel more comfortable on your hands and knees.
