Learning About Diabetes Diagnosis, Treatment and Research

Welcome to my site, my name is Jess Indaja. I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes after struggling with my weight throughout my teen years and adulthood. My doctor informed me about all of the dangers associated with my diet and exercise habits. I was encouraged to change the way I ate and moved in an effort to reverse my blood sugar problem. I made the changes, but still struggle with controlling my blood sugar. After going through this trying situation, I decided to make a site that may help others with problems associated with type 2 diabetes. I will discuss diagnostic procedures, treatments and medical research concerning this disease. I hope you visit often and learn all you can to control your type 2 diabetes or help others with this condition.

Tips For Avoiding A Relapse When You Have A Sex Addiction

by Carla Hudson

Taking steps to avoid an addiction relax isn't just about preventing a relapse into drug or alcohol abuse. If you have a different type of addiction, it's just as important to take the steps that are necessary to prevent a relapse. If you've dealt with a sex addiction and have used counseling and a treatment program to get it under control, you'll ideally be able to lead a productive life without succumbing to temptation. However, you may also face certain sexual urges that could compel you to act out sexually in a manner that is problematic. Here are some tips that you can use to avoid a sex addiction relapse.

Stay Out Of Areas With Sexual Tension

Certain areas have a palpable sexual tension, and these are spots that you should avoid when you're an addict. Perhaps you've done a good job at avoiding them since you've kept your addiction under control, but you don't want to tell yourself that just one visit will be fine. Bars can fit this criterion — people often visit these establishments to flirt and even pick up others, and the temptations that you could feel in such an environment could trigger your addiction. Likewise, you'll also want to stay away from strip clubs, as the high degree of sexual tension could prove to be problematic.

Choose Your Friends Wisely

Giving thought to your friends and how they behave is also important when you're trying to keep a sex addiction at bay. Some friends are flirty and suggestive, and while this might not bother some people, it could compel you to act out sexually. Other friends may frequently speak about sexual conquests, which could get your mind racing about your own sexual interests. Just as keeping a drug relapse from happening can often depend on whom you hang out with, the same is true with sex addiction.

Be Selective About Internet Use

It's easy enough to find adult content on the internet that you'll want to use the web with a high degree of discretion. Being bored online, for example, could compel you to seek out adult material that could trigger an addiction relapse. There are a couple of strategies that you can try in this regard. One idea is only to use the internet in the presence of others, and the other idea is to install software that blocks out any websites with adult content. If you've relapsed or you feel tempted to do so, seek help from an addiction counselor.
